The count
down has begun and I'm so excited! What am I talking about? The upcoming Brenda Novak online charity auction to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Brenda is a good friend and a wonderful writer, not to mention a terrific mother with a child that lives with diabetes. May 1st will mark the beginning of her fourth annual online auction. This year I have designed and hand-crafted a collection of eighteen special rosaries and jewellery pieces in support of the auction. With spring
in the air and outdoor sports season about to kick-in, the kids are
drinking more water (which is good) but less milk (which isn't so
great). This easy recipe for ham spread hides cottage cheese in
the mix, helping the kids get the milk (and calcium) they need. Ham Spread or Dip ~ 2/3 cup cottage cheese Combine cottage cheese and margarine in a blender and process until smooth. Add in ham, green onions, and mustard, and process until combined. Can be used as a sandwich spread, on crackers, or as a vegetable dip. Makes four servings. 160 calories per serving, 16 g protein, 9 g fat, 2 g carbohydrates. |
