To say that I have enjoyed being mentored by Brenda Novak over the last year would be a huge understatement.  It has been inspirational.

In celebration of that, I've designed and crafted these five special rosaries to be auctioned off for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Rosary 1:  Irish Penal Rosary (Botswana Agate Cylinder Beads)

The Irish Penal Rosary was a single-decade rosary used in Ireland during penal times when religious objects were forbidden.  The Penal Rosary is used by concealing the crucifix inside one's sleeve or palm and placing the ring over the thumb while the first decade of the rosary is spoken.  With each new decade of the rosary, the ring is moved to the next finger.

This specific rosary was designed using botswana agate cylinder beads in brown, tan, cream, and soft rose tones, suitable to male or female tastes.  It measures just over ten inches in total length and easily tucks in a pocket, purse, or brief case.

Rosary 2:  Single Decade Chaplet (Turquoise Cross Beads)

A simple, single decade chaplet, this rosary was designed using turquoise cross beads.  The uniqueness of the beads give it both religious and artistic appeal.  Measuring approximately eight inches in length, it a perfect size for carrying along with you in a purse, brief case, or even adorning the rearview mirror of your car.

Rosary 3:  Rosary Bracelet (Polished Hematite Beads)

One does not have to be Catholic to appreciate beauty and grace of this bracelet.  This rosary bracelet quietly shines, being designed using polished hematite beads.  It includes a “t” clasp for easy removal, and sports both a simple cross and Miraculous Mary medallion.  Measuring eight inches, including clasp, it can be adjusted smaller or larger by one-half inch for the auction winner before shipping.  Makes a lovely gift for that special woman on your shopping list, or perhaps something special just for yourself.

Rosary 4:  St. Jude Rosary (Mookaite Beads)

St. Jude is the Patron Saint of those in need. One does not need to be Catholic to turn to him, through praying this novena, for help.  Many throughout the world have found comfort and support during their times of trials.  Traditionally the novena prayer is said nine times per day over nine consecutive days.  Nine represents the nine days the early Apostles prayed together during the time between the Ascension of Jesus, and Pentecost, when they experienced the powerful presence of the Holy Spirit.  More information on this devotion can be found on the St. Jude Novena website.

This St. Jude Rosary was designed using mookaite beads.  Mookaite is a Austrialian aboriginal healing stone, with these ranging in color from soft tan, wine, gold, tiger eye-like marble and brown.  The rosary measures ten inches in length, from the St. Jude medallion on one end to the crucifix on the other.  It is suitable to male or female tastes, and fits easily in pocket, purse or brief case.

Rosary 5:  St. Jude Chaplet (Rhodonite Jasper)

This St. Jude Chaplet was designed using rhodonite jasper beads of soft rose and gray color.  Simple and compact, it measures approximately six inches in length, with both a St. Jude medallion and a Dove of Peace center.   A lovely gift for anyone on your list, and my own personal tribute to all those who have battled with breast cancer.
